Barack Obama’s employment as an editor for CIA front Business International Corporation (BIC) after his graduation from Columbia University in 1983, came at a time when such small business and political risk consulting firms were mushrooming and their ranks growing with retired senior CIA personnel. The expansion of BIC and similar firms in the early 1980s also came at a time when major corporations were phasing out their internal risk departments and relying more on companies like BIC.

However, Obama’s contacts with the CIA came earlier than his work for BIC. Obama’s attendance at Occidental College in Los Angeles from 1979 to 1981 is significant considering the college’s close ties with the CIA. Occidental’s President, Richard C. Gilman, who retired in 1988, was a habitué of Los Angeles’s version of New York’s Council on Foreign Relations, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council (WAC). As a director of the WAC, Gilman rubbed shoulders with fellow WAC directors John McCone, a former CIA director; Simon Ramo, chairman of top CIA contractor TRW, Inc.; and the wealthy oil magnate Armand Hammer, chairman of Occidental Petroleum, himself no stranger to intelligence-oriented intrigue. WMR previously reported on the CIA links of President Obama’s mother, father, step-father, grandmother to the CIA. Not much is known about Obama’s grandfather, Stanley Armour Dunham, who Obama mistakenly referred to as “his father” in two speeches, one recently to the Disabled American Veterans.

What is officially known about Stanley Armour Dunham is that he served with the 9th Air Force in Britain and France prior to and after the D-Day invasion. After the war, Dunham and his wife, Madelyn and his daughter Stanley Ann — Obama’s mother — moved to Berkeley, California; El Dorado, Kansas; Seattle; and Honolulu. In Part I of this WMR special report, we revealed the connections between Barack Obama, Sr. and the CIA-affiliated Airlift Africa project to provide college degrees to and gain influence over a group of 280 eastern and southern African students from soon-to-be independent African nations to counter similar programs established by the Soviet Union and China. Barack Obama Sr. was the first African student to attend the University of Hawaii. Obama Sr. and Obama’s mother Stanley Ann Dunham met in a Russian language class in 1959 and they married in 1961.

The African airlift program was administered by Kenyan nationalist leader Tom Mboya, a fellow Luo tribe mentor and friend of the senior Obama. According to CIA documents described in Part I, Mboya also served the CIA in ensuring that pro-Soviet and pro-Chinese African nationalists were stymied in their attempt to dominate pan-African nationalist political, student, and labor movements.

One of Mboya’s chief opponents was Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah, who was ousted in a CIA-inspired coup in 1966, one year before to Obama Sr’s son, Barack Obama, Jr. and his mother joined Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian who Obama’s mother met at the University of Hawaii in 1965, when President Obama was four years old. Libya: A Reporter’s War Diary


Posted June 1, 2011 – Note to members: A rather hurried trip arose for the editor to travel to Tripoli to witness first-hand the NATO bombing campaign being conducted against Libya. WMR will make every attempt to report from the besieged Libyan capital and the from the highway corridor from the Tunisian border to Tripoli and on the return trip from Tripoli to Tunisia. Internet connectivity may be spotty or be non-existent in Libya, especially if NATO steps up attacks on Libya’s critical infrastructures of power generation and distribution and telecommunications. WMR will either file reports from Libya or from Tunisia during the return trip back to the States next week.

June 20, 2011 — The blackmail used to inch Germany into the Libya campaign

For decades, the CIA has been in possession of documents proving that Libya’s chemical weapons program benefitted from the assistance of West German firms. Germany abstained on UN Security Council Resolution 1973, which authorized “any means” necessary to prevent the death of civilians in Libya’s civil war, which the U.S. and NATO quickly adopted as a green light for regime change in Libya through the assassination of its leader Muammar Qaddafi.

To counter German resistance to UN and NATO action against Libya, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was told by President Obama that she and her country would be embarrassed if some of the details of Germany’s involvement in Libya’s nerve and mustard gas weapons program were “leaked” to the media. WMR learned in Libya that the blackmail of Germany by the U.S. and NATO worked and that Germany decided to step up its role in the Libyan war effort, although not to the extent desired by Washington, London, or Paris. In fact, the Germans want nothing reported about the continued presence in Libya of chemical weapons stocks turned over by Libya to the UN and U.S. but still await disposal. Libyan troops were placed in charge of the security for the chemical weapons stocks after Libya’s 2003 agreement with the U.S. and UN to turn over its stockpiles. However, since NATO began bombing Libyan military bases, some of which are adjacent to the chemical weapons warehouses, there is a fear that the weapons could fall into the hands of Libyan rebels, some of whom are “Al Qaeda” and “mujaheddin” veterans of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Germany fears that its role in providing the chemical weapons technology to Libya might be revealed if the rebels gain control of the warehouses. [Read more…]

President Obama anxiously kept the media and the world waiting on the evening of May 1 for what later turned out to be his announcement that he ordered a US Navy SEAL team to attack the compound of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Obama claimed that the SEALs had shot and killed Bin Laden in a firefight.

The reason for the delay of Obama’s announcement, according to WMR’s sources, had nothing to do with national security but to alert Obama’s student supporters at George Washington and Howard universities in Washington, DC to marshal a group of Obama fans to gather at Lafayette Park in front of the White House in a “flash mob” to stage a pep rally for Obama after his announcement. The “Wag the Dog”-inspired demonstration was planned by Obama’s political adviser David Plouffe.

MS-NBC’s dutiful bleating Obama sycophant, Rachel Maddow, showed a flash mob gathered in Lafayette Park shouting “USA! USA!” while she proceeded to lambast Pakistan for providing sanctuary to Bin Laden and other top Al Qaeda leaders. Of course, Maddow, was merely parroting the new neocon line that Pakistan must be the next nation to be rendered like a kosher chicken in the Maddow kitchen.

Plouffe, of course, arranged for brand new American flags to be distributed to the college students for the widely-televised “impromptu” demonstration. The new, just unfolded American flags appeared faster than the new Libyan royalist flags showed up in Benghazi, Libya after the uprising against Muammar Qaddafi. [Read more…]

Many who stop by The T-Room to catch up on the latest alternative news know we have posted numerous investigative reports written by journalist, Wayne Madsen. We do this because Wayne’s work is informed by a career of learning how the US intelligence apparatus operates, because he worked in it, and because he is the only investigative journalist actually doing the job of informing the public who Barack Hussein Obama and his family truly are. His reward, having his life threatened.

Ask yourself if you ever recall a time when an American journalist’s life was threatened by his/our federal government for simply informing the people who their President is? Seriously, do you recall such circumstances?

During the 2008 campaign everyone seemed to be asking the same question – who is this guy named Obama? Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Greenies, Independents…EVERYONE!

We hoped to learn who this man was, what drove him, what his values and morals were, his education, his past leadership positions and so much more, but to our astonishment, the vehicle who used to vet Presidential nominees, were having tingly sensations down their legs, hyper ventilating when Obama was nearby, girlhood like crushes and handing off other ridiculous, juvenile and pathetic dribble they called journalism. April 4, 2011 — White House threats must be taken seriously

In yet another indication that America’s democratic experiment is a thing of the past, this editor has received word from a source in a foreign intelligence agency allied with the United States that there has been talk by some within the Obama White House that this editor is under threat. What particular stories have inflamed the White House are not known but the warning conveyed by the source, who has connections within the White House, was stark in its directness: “They want to kill you.”

It was perfectly clear that the phrase was not being used as a figure of speech.

That this development is being reported on April 4 is even more ironic. On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Kr. was assassinated in Memphis during his mission to support striking sanitation workers in the city. Now, we have our first African-American president and a threat to kill a journalist who is most definitely not one of their favorites has been seriously discussed. [Read more…]

The nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima Dai’Ichi power plant continues with no end in sight. Everyday we awake to fresh news about one of four reactors exploding, on fire or spewing white, grey or black fumes into the air we breath. Water used to cool the reactors has been freely flowing into the sea and ground water, thereby forever poisoning the very resource necessary to sustain life.

The good people in and around the area were evacuated over a week ago – first 3 then 10 now 20km. When the evacuee’s entered the evacuation centers they were promptly geigered, given face masks and Potassium Iodide to stave off the poisoning of radioactive material.

Outside the center, folks are learning their milk, food, tap and sea water are all reading high levels of radiation. Those who could afford to flee for safety left last week. The US military initially began voluntary evacuations of women and children last week, but has since made said evacuations mandatory.

Homes, businesses and entire towns are destroyed by the awesome force of mother nature. Thousands remain unaccounted for. Mass graves are filling up with the dead with the hope that some day some family member will identify the perished and provide them with a proper burial.

The air these people breath, the water they drink and the soil they till is poisoned forever.  There is no clean up process available for radioactive material. None. Zilch. Zip.

It must feel like a living hell in Japan these days. [Read more…]

From Wayne Madsen Reports – March 18,2011 – TEPCO, Japanese regulator stonewalling on nuclear plant crisis

WMR has learned of a concerted campaign of the stonewalling of key Japanese government officials by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the operator of the stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant, and Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) nuclear regulatory watchdog. WMR has been told by informed Japanese sources that the close relationship between TEPCO and NISA neutered effective oversight of TEPCO’s safety problem-ridden reactors for a number of years. The lack of effective contingency planning and TEPCO’s overriding interest in it’s corporate bottom led to the post-quake/tsunami Level 5 nuclear crisis at the Fukushima plant. The lack of effective NISA oversight is a direct result of the cozy relationship between the Japanese nuclear regulatory agency, according to our sources.

One of the major reasons why the Japanese Cabinet of Prime Minister Naoto Kan has not been fully informed of the dire situation at the Fukushima reactor facilities is that Chief Cabinet Secretary, attorney Yukio Edano, cut his teeth in politics as an outspoken opponent of Japan’s nuclear power industry.

WMR has been told that TEPCO and NISA, skeptical of Edano’s past anti-nuclear stance, feared that Edano stands to amplify the threat posed by the current nuclear disaster at Fukushima. TEPCO and NISA has, therefore, acted to limit what information has been passed to Edano to avoid the Cabinet Secretary heightening fears during his many news conferences. Edano has been the chief Japanese government’s face in televised news conferences on Fukushima’s nuclear meltdown and radiation release.

Edano’s past anti-nuclear stance also extended to his opposition to nuclear-powered U.S. Navy ships from being homeported in Japanese ports. There are some indications that the Obama administration, which fully supports the U.S. nuclear power industry, has also quietly supported TEPCO and NISA from providing Edano with too much information, especially since Edano also holds the portfolio of Minister of State for Okinawa Affairs. The people of Okinawa have been adamant about the need for the U.S. to pull its military bases off the island.

The boss of the company behind the devastated Japanese nuclear reactor today broke down in tears – as his country finally acknowledged the radiation spewing from the over-heating reactors and fuel rods was enough to kill some citizens

Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency admitted that the disaster was a level 5, which is classified as a crisis causing ‘several radiation deaths’ by the UN International Atomic Energy.

Officials said the rating was raised after they realised the full extent of the radiation leaking from the plant. They also said that 3 per cent of the fuel in three of the reactors at the Fukushima plant had been severely damaged, suggesting those reactor cores have partially melted down.

After Tokyo Electric Power Company Managing Director Akio Komiri cried as he left a conference to brief journalists on the situation at Fukushima, a senior Japanese minister also admitted that the country was overwhelmed by the scale of the tsunami and nuclear crisis.

He said officials should have admitted earlier how serious the radiation leaks were.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said: ‘The unprecedented scale of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, frankly speaking, were among many things that happened that had not been anticipated under our disaster management contingency plans.

‘In hindsight, we could have moved a little quicker in assessing the situation and coordinating all that information and provided it faster.’

Nuclear experts have been saying for days that Japan was underplaying the crisis’ severity.

It is now officially on a par with the Three Mile Island accident in Pennsylvania in 1979. Only the explosion at Chernobyl in 1986 has topped the scale.

Intel Hub Analysis: Mainstream Experts Predict Radiation In United States Will Be Harmless

The radiation that is expected to reach California tomorrow is from the initial problems faced on Friday [a week ago today]. Radiation from the explosion at reactor #3 is not expected to reach the west coast until Sunday or Monday. Whether the radiation from reactor 3 will be as low as the levels expected tomorrow is, at this time, unknown.

For those on the west coast: Prepare, stay level headed, and do NOT panic.

Nuke plant disaster rating raised to Level 5

The Japanese government raised its rating on Friday of the problems at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant to the same level as the 1979 Three Mile Island accident.

The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency revised upward its evaluation of the severity of the disaster by one notch to Level 5 on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale.

Level 5 is the third highest on the 8-notch scale and the worst for any nuclear accident to have happened in Japan.

The agency says it raised the rating because more than 3 percent of the nuclear fuel has been damaged and radioactive material is leaking from the plant.

The disaster’s initial rating of Level 4 was the same as the fatal criticality accident that occurred at a nuclear fuel plant in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1999.

  • Officials remain committed to cooling down overheated nuclear fuel rods and keep spraying reactor No.3 at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi plant. But the plant’s operator, Tokyo electric Power Co., says encasing reactors in concrete may prove the only way to prevent a catastrophic radiation leak, the method used at Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986.
  • Electricity could be restored on Saturday morning to reactors 1 and 2, the nuclear safety agency said, which would restart pumps needed to pour cold water on the fuel rods. Priority is to get water into spent fuel pools, particularly in reactor No. 3, which contains plutonium.
  • he agency also raised the incident level at the striken power plant to a 5 on a 1-7 scale. That would suggest a level of seriousness on par with the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in the United States in 1979. But it said there was no need to expand the evacuation area beyond 30 km at this point.
  • The head of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Gregory Jaczko, says it could take weeks to cool the reactors.
  • G7 industrialised countries agreed, after a teleconference of finance ministers, on concerted intervention, the first since 2000, to restrain the yen, hoping to calm global markets.

FRIDAY, MARCH 18

17:53 – Electricity could be restored on Saturday morning at the No.1 and No.2 reactors, the country’s nuclear safety agency said on Friday. The agency also raised the incident level at reactors No.1, No.2, and No.3 at the Daiichi plant to level 5 from level 4.

10:04 – Japan’s nuclear safety agency said it was aware of the ultimate “Chernobyl solution” to contain the nuclear disaster at the quake-hit plant by covering it in sand and encasing it in concrete, but added that it was currently focusing on efforts to restore power and cool down the reactors.

09:20 – White smoke or steam was rising from reactors 2, 3 and 4, the nuclear safety agency said on Friday. It said it believed there was still water in the spent fuel pool at reactor No.3.

Folks, Reactor No. 3 is the reactor that has spent fuel rods carrying pounds of plutonium. Although the other 3 Reactors carry lethal radioactivity it is No. 3 many are watching closely. FYI –

The fuel rods at all six reactors at the stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi complex contain plutonium — better known as fuel for nuclear weapons. While plutonium is more toxic than uranium, other radioactive elements leaking out are likely to be of greater danger to the general public.

Only six percent of the fuel rods at the plant’s Unit 3 were a mixture of plutonium-239 and uranium-235 when first put into operation. The fuel in other reactors is only uranium, but even there, plutonium is created during the fission process.

This means the fuel in all of the stricken reactors and spent fuel pools contain plutonium.

Plutonium is indeed nasty stuff, especially damaging to lungs and kidneys. It is also less stable than uranium and can more easily spark a dangerous nuclear chain reaction.

Nuclear experts have said the men are on a suicide mission and that not even their airtight suits can save them from contamination.And if they survive, they will face a lifetime of health problems.

But the Fukushima Fifty, named as they are on a rotation of 50 at a time, are working around the clock to stop the plant’s reactors from overheating by taking it in turns to cool them with water.

The group, whose identities remain a mystery, stayed at the plant after 700 of their colleagues fled when radiation levels peaked at lethal levels.

Of those who decided to stay, five are known to have already died. A further two are missing and at least 21 others have been injured.

Japan raises accident severity level to 5 in nuclear crisis

Japan raised the severity level of crisis-hit reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to 5 on an international scale of 7, the same level as the Three Mile Island accident in the United States in 1979, Japan’s nuclear safety agency said Friday.The provisional evaluation stands at level 5 on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale for the plant’s No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 reactors as their cores are believed to have partially melted and radiation leaks are continuing, the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said.

A network of international monitoring stations has begun to pick up the signatures of radioactive elements emitted by Japan’s crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, a Swedish official said Thursday.

At high, sustained doses, these radioactive elements—including iodine and cesium—can be dangerous to human health.

However, the amounts released from the plant so far are small, and are largely being dispersed over the Pacific.

Currently, “they don’t pose a danger” to the U.S. or even other Asian countries, said Lars-Erik De Geer, research director at the Swedish Defense Research Institute, who has seen the data from the monitoring stations.

The several dozen workers now attempting to cool the overheating nuclear fuel at the Fukushima plant face the gravest danger from radiation sickness. The closer people are to the source, the greater their risk. Residents of Tokyo and other populated centers south of the plant also face little immediate danger, since even the low level of radiation is being blown eastward across the ocean, scientists say.

Japan Nuclear Disaster Caps Decades of Faked Reports

the unfolding disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant follows decades of falsified safety reports, fatal accidents and underestimated earthquake risk in Japan’s atomic power industry.

The destruction caused by last week’s 9.0 earthquake and tsunami comes less than four years after a 6.8 quake shut the world’s biggest atomic plant, also run by Tokyo Electric Power Co. In 2002 and 2007, revelations the utility had faked repair records forced the resignation of the company’s chairman and president, and a three-week shutdown of all 17 of its reactors.

With almost no oil or gas reserves of its own, nuclear power has been a national priority for Japan since the end of World War II, a conflict the country fought partly to secure oil supplies. Japan has 54 operating nuclear reactors — more than any other country except the U.S. and France — to power its industries, pitting economic demands against safety concerns in the world’s most earthquake-prone country.

Nuclear engineers and academics who have worked in Japan’s atomic power industry spoke in interviews of a history of accidents, faked reports and inaction by a succession of Liberal Democratic Party governments that ran Japan for nearly all of the postwar period.

High radiation level detected 30km from nuke plant

Japan’s science ministry says radiation levels of up to 0.17 millisieverts per hour have been detected about 30 kilometers northwest of the quake-damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Experts say exposure to those levels for 6 hours would result in absorption of the maximum level considered safe for 1 year.

The government has instructed residents living within a 20 to 30 kilometer radius of the plant to stay indoors.

The ministry gauged radiation from 9:20 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday at 28 spots, in areas 20 to 60 kilometers from the plant.

The ministry also observed radiation levels of 0.0183 to 0.0011 millisieverts per hour at most of the observation points.

It says these levels are higher than normal but pose no immediate threat to health.

Fukushima Reactor No. 1 After Explosion

President Obama, as he displayed so ignominiously in the aftermath of the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster, has, once again, demonstrated that his first priority in the face of major disasters is the protection of corporate interests. Obama’s reaction to the post-quake nuclear power plant disasters in Japan complements what amounts to a cover-up of the danger posed by nuclear power plants in quake-prone areas. Obama has good reason to be protective of the nuclear power industry: he is in their pockets as much as he was in the pockets of BP and other oil companies after the Deepwater Horizon oil platform explosion and subsequent oil deluge in the Gulf.

The nearly 40 year-old nuclear reactor that experienced a core meltdown and explosion, Fukushima Daiichi’s Unit 1, was manufactured by General Electric and built in Japan at a time when memories of the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were still fresh in the minds of many Japanese. Of course, thanks to slick public relations and the support of both the U.S. and Japanese governments, the fear of the Japanese public about nuclear power plants was assuaged by guarantees that the safety of the plants was guaranteed, even during an earthquake in seismically-active Japan. President Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, worked in Indonesia for a U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) embassy cover operation that helped identify some 5000 key members of the Indonesian Communist Party — Partai Komunis Indonesia(PKI) that were targeted for assassination by Indonesian armed forces units, of which her husband and President Obama’s step-father, Lolo Soetoro, was a participant. The 5000 targets’ names appeared in what was called by the CIA “the shooting list.”

Furthermore, the contacts of the key 5000 PKI members was also used by the CIA, in part using USAID official cover agents like Ann Dunham, to identify Indonesian sympathizers with the government of President Sukarno, ousted in 1965 in a CIA-orchestrated coup, in which Lolo Soetoro took part, and the PKI, with the net total of Indonesians killed ranging from 250,000 to 1 million.

The CIA’s role in the Indonesian genocide is found in a 1990 article written by Ralph McGehee, a CIA veteran of the agency’s International Communism Branch of the Counterintelligence Staff. The article appeared in the Fall 1990 issue of the Covert Action Information Bulletin.

Lolo Soetoro was a colonel in the Indonesian armed forces and worked for the CIA-installed dictator, General Suharto, from 1965, after returning to Indonesia from Hawaii, where he married Ann Dunham, to 1970, when he joined Exxon. President Obama’s mother arrived in Indonesia to join Soetoro with young Barack Obama, Jr. in October 1967,while the CIA’s anti-PKI and anti-Sukarno “mopping up” operations were still taking place. February 25, 2011, New York – In response to news that the full panel of Judges of the Audencia Nacional (Spain’s High Court) rejected a Spanish prosecutor’s effort to stop an investigation into the role of  US officials for torture on Guantanamo, the Center for Constitutional Rights, which has submitted many papers in this and a related case in Spain, released the following statement:
This is a monumental decision that will enable a Spanish judge to continue a case on the “authorized and systematic plan of torture and ill treatment” by U.S. officials at Guantanamo. Geoffrey Miller, the former commanding officer at Guantánamo, has already been implicated, and the case will surely move up the chain of command. Since the U.S. government has not only failed to investigate the illegal actions of its own officials and, according to diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks,  also sought to interfere in the Spanish judicial process and stop the case from proceeding, this will be the first real investigation of the U.S. torture program. This is a victory for accountability and a blow against impunity. The Center for Constitutional Rights applauds the Spanish courts for not bowing to political pressure and for undertaking what may be the most important investigation in decades. [Read more…]

Yeah, I know the Farm Bureau wasn’t at the table in 2004, but I was, and I then and now absolutely represent the small farmer. Therefore, sir, I expect nothing less than a NAY!!!

3. Vote Nay on the Start Treaty! What the hell are you all debating this now for anyway?!? Good grief, give us all a break and vote Nay. Bring it back up in the winter or spring session. Fine. And let’s have a true debate on the pros and cons. Don’t let Brzezenski strong arm you, Sir. Vote No!!! Show your own strength!

Whether the T-Room blog survives this mess is one story, but sir, I can assure you that we are prepared to morph into a secondary vehicle to make sure ALL VIRGINIANS KNOW HOW YOU and Sen.
