Rubio forewarns of taxpayer bailout for Obamacare

Sen. Rubio recently testified before Issa’s Oversight Committee to highlight Section 1342 of Obamacare, which deals with risk corridors. According to Kaiser Health a risk corridor is

“part of this three-pronged approach to help insurers manage the financial risk of taking all comers, taking everyone who applies for insurance no matter what their health status, while at the same time keeping premiums affordable. The corridors allow insurance companies and the government to share higher than expected costs or profits. Actual claims are compared to the claims that insurers anticipated when they set up their premiums.”

Rubio states in his testimony that the problem with Obamacare’s risk corridors is they are “not a normal circumstance.” [Read more…]

Dear Ms. Lerner, sharing confidential IRS info with the FEC is a felony

Ruh roh, it’s looking like Ms. Lerner knowingly crossed a legal red line, but what’s glaring in her emails with the FEC is it appears, at least for her, the FEC’s request was standard operating procedure I dare say for both her and the FEC. Which leaves one wondering what other agencies or individuals she shared confidential IRS information with.

OBAMACARE: Unions Secure Delay, Corporations Secure Delay – Why Not the American People?

Here’s what I can’t figure out about the showdown in DC – how can anyone, let alone the feds, ask the consumer to sign up for these Obamacare exchanges without knowing what the costs are up front? Are the Dem’s actually expecting the People to just sign up and get the sticker shock later? Not even their base is that stupid. So, what’s with the “my way or the highway” juvenile position from the Senate?

Surprise! Surprise! Seems no one prepared for sequestration cuts

Obama appointees admit during yesterday’s budget oversight committee hearing they only began to prepare their budgets for sequestration, a bill passed in August 2011, at the beginning of 2013. It would appear few if any in the administration believed the cuts would go through, therefore doing little to know preparation to ensure cuts would minimize impacts to vital services. [Read more…]
