What’s on your mind today?

Here are a couple of stories the T-Room is tracking…

Leuren Moret: Japan, U.S., Canadian governments complicit in covering up Fukushima radiation

Phoenix Capital – Don’t Be Fooled, The German Backstop Ends Soon

According to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, he and Angela Merkel share an “absolute determination” to defend the Euro. I find that hard to believe as:

§ 86% of Germans think the Euro is at risk.

§ 71% of Germans are doubtful about the common currency.

§ 56% of Germans say the Euro has brought them economic disadvantages.

The European bailouts were always ultimately about Germany. Without German support, you have no bail out and no EU either.

So with that in mind, we need to consider that Angela Merkel’s party was absolutely destroyed in the German March 2011 elections, largely because she had been pro-bailouts and pro-the Euro. She’s not out of the woods yet either.

Keiser Report: Looting – low-income/high-income – What's the difference?

Great show today. Stacy tee’s it up with several examples of how kid’s who are looting are punished vs the Ivy League banksters who looted all don’t even get investigated let alone charged of any crime. Two sets of laws – one for the peasants and another for the criminal “elite” class. Following Stacy’s piece, Max talks to former bank regulator, William K. Pitchfork rally update: Palin takes on CNN for claiming Obama vetted more than Her; Author of Georgia eligibility bill singled out in redistricting for removal

On Friday August, 12th Pixel Patriot hosted a Skype conference with ex-CIA espionage officer Kent Clizbe, Carl Swensson, Chairman of the Clayton County GOP and Arnie Rosner. Constitutional attorney Mario Apuzzo was scheduled to join in on the call but was unable to attend. The discussion centered around candidate eligibility and the vetting process. Mr. Clizbe agreed that Barack Obama was not vetted in 2008. He explained how there needs to be an “apparatus” in place at the state level to ensure candidates are scrutinized before being placed on the ballot. [Read more…]

WI Recall Marks Labor Win; Election Money Raises Question of U.S. as "Democracy or Dollar-ocracy?"

For analysis on the Wisconsin recall vote, we go to Madison to speak with John Nichols, Washington correspondent for The Nation magazine. Although Republicans hold on to a slim 17-to-16 majority after the election, Nichols says the Democrats’ pick-up of two seats, coupled with the moderate stance of Republican State Sen. Bill Schulz, amounts to a new “pro-labor majority” in the Wisconsin State Senate. “Gov. Scott Walker took a hit last night,” Nichols says. “Even though Democrats didn’t win, progressive politics made a real advance.” Some $30 million was spent by outside groups on the Wisconsin recall. Looking forward to the 2012 national election Nichols says the “biggest message from Wisconsin” is that “we are going to see absolutely unprecedented amounts of money coming into our politics and have to ask ourselves the question, do we have a democracy or a dollar-ocracy?

Georgia's 'Pitchfork Rally' – Kick-off Event to Pass the "Presidential Eligibility Assurance Act"

by Helen Tansey

Fourteen states, with Republican’s leading the charge, introduced legislation between 2010 and 2011 that went to the heart of voters growing realization that an ineligible candidate and his Party apparatus hoodwinked Secretary’s of State Board of Elections by placing said ineligible candidate on their state ballots who the majority of voters then elected to the most powerful position in the world, the United States Presidency.  These 14 states include: Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania (Sept 2011), Tennessee and Texas.

Obviously, as demonstrated by the actions of these Republican state legislators and one Democratic Governor, they share in the over 50 + 1 of voters growing concerns about their state’s utter lack of control over who gains access to their respective state ballots, and by extension their voters and electoral college members, concerning the Presidential/Vice Presidential elections. Bloody Monday….and so it begins….

Following Friday night’s credit rating announcement by S & P Chairman John Chambers, the T-Room will be capturing and posting hotlinks throughout the day to capture the market’s reaction.

Some in the industry have termed today as “Bloody Monday” which by all accounts appears appropriate given the headlines already appearing and it’s only 10:06 am.

To give you a bit more context as to what is happening and how Congress seems to be benefitting personally from all of this, we kick off this post with a “Government Gone Wild” video highlighting those congress critters, who are now on the “List” and the millions they are making to enrich themselves by betting on your losses – [Read more…]

Full Text of S & P's Downgrade of America's AAA rating to AA+ – Outlook Negative

See updates below X1

United States of America Long-Term Rating Lowered To ‘AA+’ On Political Risks And Rising Debt Burden; Outlook Negative

We have lowered our long-term sovereign credit rating on the United States of America to ‘AA+’ from ‘AAA’ and affirmed the ‘A-1+’ short-term rating.

We have also removed both the short- and long-term ratings from CreditWatch negative.

The downgrade reflects our opinion that the fiscal consolidation plan that Congress and the Administration recently agreed to falls short of what, in our view, would be necessary to stabilize the government’s medium-term debt dynamics.

More broadly, the downgrade reflects our view that the effectiveness, stability, and predictability of American policymaking and political institutions have weakened at a time of ongoing fiscal and economic challenges to a degree more than we envisioned when we assigned a negative outlook to the rating on April 18, 2011.

Since then, we have changed our view of the difficulties in bridging the gulf between the political parties over fiscal policy, which makes us pessimistic about the capacity of Congress and the Administration to be able to leverage their agreement this week into a broader fiscal consolidation plan that stabilizes the government’s debt dynamics any time soon.

The outlook on the long-term rating is negative. We could lower the long-term rating to ‘AA’ within the next two years if we see that less reduction in spending than agreed to, higher interest rates, or new fiscal pressures during the period result in a higher general government debt trajectory than we currently assume in our base case. AE911Truth on Canada's new TV series – "The Conspiracy Show" w/ Richard Syrret.mov

Visit AE911Truth to learn what more than 1,300 professional Architects and Engineers are saying about how the three towers, North, South and Building 7 collapsed. Why didn’t NIST investigate for explosives and/or demolition material? And why does NIST continue to refuse to test for such material?

Here is AE911Truth’s newest video demanding a “real” scientific investigation into the destruction of the North and South Towers AND Building 7. No such investigation has ever been conducted. The NIST Report that supposedly served as the governments investigation has been rejected as scientifically based by 1,300 Architects and Engineers plus countless other professionals who have arrived at the same conclusion. Why does the federal government continue to stonewall such a request?

EXCLUSIVE: Fired Army Whistleblower Receives $970K for Exposing Halliburton No-Bid Contract in Iraq

From DemocracyNow!

“Bunnatine “Bunny” Greenhouse, the former chief oversight official of contracts at the Army Corps of Engineers, has reached a $970,000 settlement six years after she was demoted for publicly criticizing a multi-billion-dollar, no-bid contract to Halliburton—the company formerly headed by then-Vice President Dick Cheney. Greenhouse had accused the Pentagon of unfairly awarding the contract to Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root. Testifying before Congress in June 2005, she called the contract the worst case of government abuse she had ever witnessed in her 20-year career. Just two months after that testimony, Greenhouse was demoted at the Pentagon, ostensibly for “poor performance…”
