Nothing but straight talk from Larry Johnson, No Quarter blog, on the Cain blubbering “DOUBLE UPDATE–GOOD GOD FOLKS!!! Inspired by Tamminator I’ve got to lay this out a little more clearly why Cain is acting like a clown and providing ample ammunition for the Dems to destroy him. If you walk into a bar in Tel Aviv wearing a shirt with the logo, “Kill the Jews” or “Hitler Had a Good Idea,” then you better bet your ass there will be a fight. If you walk onto the field of an NFL stadium during a game you should not be shocked if you get hit. And if you announce that you are going to run for President as the “straight talking, experienced businessman,” then you better be goddamn ready to be the STRAIGHT TALKING, EXPERIENCED BUSINESSMAN.”
Before we finish Johnson’s acute political observations, let’s see what Jon Stewart has to say –
Now back to Johnson –
“So what are we to make of Cain? He and his staff learn TEN DAYS AGO that the Politico is coming after him. If you are an experienced businessman who prides himself on his integrity, how would you react? Would you be fully prepared to respond to the inevitable questions? Would you mount a coordinated counter-attack? Short answer, yes
Well, what did Mr. Cain do? When first hit with the question he stumbled. Then he claimed not to know anything about it. Then he parsed words. Then he admitted that there was a five figure settlement. Then he went back and claimed not to have any knowledge about the settlement.
Jesus CHRIST!! He had ten days to prepare for a gut shot and this is the best he can do? Those of you so strident in your hatred of Obama are accepting and excusing conduct in Cain that, if Obama did it, you would justifiably condemn it.
I genuinely wanted Herman Cain to succeed. But this guy has become a clown act. One misstep can be excused, but he is piling up in a short time a lot of errors. And don’t give me the nonsense that, “he did not expect to be in this position and was unprepared.” WHAT? A guy who touts his experience as a hardnosed businessman was unprepared for success? A guy who is supposed to understand things like finance, raising money and building corporate structures cannot stitch together a sound campaign operation?
He knew he was entering the arena of political combat. He may not be an experienced poltician, but he goddamned well better know how to play the game. Otherwise he loses.
