Tansey & Associates is excited to bring to you a first of its kind political blog – The T-Room ~ A Virtual Pub for Polite Political Discourse. Yep, you read that right – a Virtual Pub fully equipped with an always sunny and warm outdoor Cafe. Why a Pub? Because the Tansey part of Associates has always wanted to own a small Pub where those in the political “know” congregate to enjoy a good meal, a satisfying beverage, share Intel & be seen. Rather than opening a real Pub we thought it’d be fun to build a community virtual Pub.
So, welcome to The T-Room. Our goal is to create a professional atmosphere where politicos of all stripes are welcomed to converse on the plethora of topics we will be posting. However, our primary customer’s will be those of us who have left our respective clubs for one reason or another and now make up the burgeoning center. The only good patriots who seem to want to reach the center are my fellow bloggers. Thus, the majority of our news coverage and opinion writers will come from professional veteran blogger’s rather than the Marionette’s aka Talking Heads of Mainstream Media.
If you’re looking for spin, propaganda, or you want to keep your eyes and ears closed to what is truly happening in America and around the world then The T-Room isn’t the place for you. However, if you want to
“reclaim your freedom to think for yourself and take responsibility to learn more about what the federal government & our elected leaders are doing to affect our republic, our way of life and our quality of life which includes your family, your career, your financial health, your neighbors, your friends and your community then The T-Room is the place you will want to Bookmark and visit daily. “
We want to take a moment to introduce you to the savviest, most creative & professional teams that made this site possible.
First, allow me to introduce you to the lead designer, Jennifer Owen, Owner, Owen Design Company. Jen created out of thin air the logo, the overall Pub design and masterfully created design features that complete the overall experience when visiting The T-Room and our Live Blog Suite. She managed the entire project, kept the team focused & created an overall engaging atmosphere for our customers.
The second member of the team is lead programmer, Sharif Ewes, Owner, 28Media. Sharif is our genius programmer who I tend to think of as the wizard behind the screen. Sharif took the impossible and made it possible. He is accomplished, knows the programming business inside and out & manages all details with the utmost professionalism.
A HUGE thank you to both Jen and Sharif for your hard work and dedication creating the fabulous T-Room Blog and Live Blog Suite.
Now, it’s time to settle back, pour your favorite beverage, and learn a smidgen of the T-Room’s many features.
As with any virtual Pub, we invite you to begin at The T-Room’s Daily Specials Chalkboard located at the Pub’s entrance –
“Here you will find our daily menu featuring veteran bloggers/journalists who have rightfully taken the place of the once respected Marionette’s. We are making it easy for you “too busy to be bothered folks” to read the best reporting anywhere by simply clicking on any of the 12 daily feature stories. The Daily Specials Chalkboard is reserved for bloggers who are committed to bringing the public up to the minute news, breaking stories, investigative reports and opinion pieces. Check it out frequently. The Daily Specials Chalkboard is not static. We will rotate breaking stories in throughout the day. If there was a story you read earlier and it isn’t there anymore, have no fear, we’ve set up an Archive for our customer’s future reference.”
Once you’ve wandered through the Daily Specials Chalkboard, we invite you to meander on down and take a seat in our Juicy & Delicious always sunny and warm outdoor Cafe –
Here, we will highlight and comment on falsehoods, spin or propaganda being pushed on the public by the Marionettes, the Republican and Democrat Corporations and their talking heads, BUT we will also feature internet radio programs and/or television interviews, snippets from The Daily Show, Leno or SNL might be found here. The Juicy & Delicious outdoor Café is where we plan to have lots of fun. So, plan to visit daily and by all means chime in!
I love to write and educate. For those who know me, I also love to express my opinion even when not asked for. Ha-ha. I discovered the power of blogging during the 2008 primary and found it to be an extraordinary vehicle of communication for the serious patriot who wishes to learn what’s really going on in the political theater, elections and policymaking world.
This is where The T-Room’s Opinion Room comes into play –
It’s here The T-Room staff as well as guest authors will provide an ABC type of education on a variety of “hot” topics that affect you, your family, your quality of life and fighting to restore the American way of life. One of the things you will find missing in the Opinion Room is a Republican/neocon or Democratic/progressive slant. Of course, both heads of the same body of the snake will be discussed, it wouldn’t be any fun if we didn’t, but what The T-Room’s Opinion Room will strive in earnest to accomplish is building an informed, savvy and sophisticated center to masterfully counter the left, right and corporate media spin.
Last but very near and dear to Tansey & Associates is our subscription only Live Blog Suite –
Virginia has been home most of my life. I grew up in the Fort Hunt area until we moved across the Potomac to Waldorf, Maryland. Dad worked for the then Health, Education and Welfare department over by L’Enfant Plaza. I used to go to work with him often to visit the Smithsonian Institute or shop but we’d always have lunch at Clancy’s. I left the area for several years and returned in 1992. Since then, I finished my BA and have steadily built my professional career in the conservation/environmental non-profit sector. It’s here that I learned the profound importance Virginia’s budget plays in every citizen’s life who calls the Commonwealth their home. The only way a citizen can truly learn what is happening when legislators come to town to conduct the state’s business is by attending the plethora of committee and sub-committee meetings on their own. They can visit the General Assembly website but that only tells you a Bill Number and actions taken. It doesn’t tell us how our representatives reached the decision pro or against. Nope. You have to attend.
Well, I don’t know about you, but I think that is quite an unreasonable expectation to place on the good citizens who go to work every day to provide for their families and who pay the taxes that support Virginia’s multiple services. Therefore, The T-Room Live Blog Suite will head over to the Virginia General Assembly on March 1, 2010 and begin Live Blogging in Senate Finance, House Appropriations and both chambers Local Government Committees. This is how it will work – when the meeting is Called to Order a T-Room associate, me at first (need to learn all of the technical aspects before expecting a new hire to figure it out), will transcribe verbatim and in real time the meeting. Minutes will be uploaded every few minutes to the subscription only Live Blog Suite. We anticipate mistakes which is why we will also be recording the meetings. A final transcript and audio will be made available at the end of each day to members.
Note, all material is copyrighted. Tansey & Associates requests all subscribed members contact us first to gain authorization for use of the transcription or the audio. Tansey & Associates is committed to maintaining the integrity of this property. Please work with us and honor our rules and procedures. Thank you.
Well folks, I believe everything is covered. The other functions of The T-Room such as the Blog Roll, About Us or Archives are self explanatory so no need to go into detail.
We are grateful you stopped in tonight to be a part of The T-Room’s public unveiling. It has been a long time in the making and we are thrilled to be open for business. Let us know what you think and by all means feel free to make suggestions. We will constantly be working to update the features of the blog and more. Your input is valuable and wanted.
Cheers!
